Sydney, Australia’s bustling city, is renowned for its breathtaking coastline, captivating sandstone cliffs, and lively culture. But, it’s also a haven for some of the world’s most enticing walks. Glebe Foreshore Walk

Starting at Bicentennial Park and ending at the Sydney Fish Markets, the Glebe Foreshore walk offers 27 hectares of stunning parkland and reserves. The walkway runs parallel to Rozelle Bay and Blackwattle Bay, offering fantastic views of the bays, the Sydney CBD, Sydney Harbour, and Anzac Bridge. It’s a perfect walk for any time of the day.

Barangaroo Foreshore & Reserve

The main path at Barangaroo Reserve starts at the Hickson Road entrance and wraps around the reserve before finishing at the Towns Place roundabout. The Reserve is a multi-level park with over 75,000 native plants and trees. It offers views of Darling Harbour, the Harbour Bridge, Luna Park and Goat Island, along with plenty of quiet, shady spots to relax.

Bondi To Manly Walking Track

This iconic Sydney walk connects several paths into one massive seaside stroll, winding through 80km of significant historical landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The track passes by North Head, Middle Head, the Clontarf, the Macquarie Lighthouse, Taronga Zoo, Bradleys Head, and Clifton Gardens.

Coast Track / Bundeena To Otford, Royal National Park

The Bundeena to Otford trail, also known as The Coast Track, offers stunning white-cliff coasts in the north and wild beaches with surfable waves in the south (Garie Beach and North and South Era). The Long 26km walk is a bit of a trek but it has many features including rainforest areas, waterfalls & rock pools. If you want accommodation they have coastal camping.

Six Foot Track, Blue Mountains National Park

Near Sydney, one of the most spectacular treks is the famous Six Foot Track. This path follows a horse track dating back to the 1880s and takes you from Katoomba to the Jenolan Caves. To cover the whole walk you will need to camp overnight which will allow you to cover the full track.

Bouddi Coastal Walk, Bouddi Bouddi National Park

The beaches, boardwalk, and birds of Bouddi Coastal Walk, near Gosford, make this one of the most beautiful coastal walks in NSW. From Putty Beach to MacMasters Beach, the 8-kilometre Bouddi coastal walk is a real stunner.

The BayRun

One of Sydney’s hidden gems is the BayRun, a scenic 7km circuit located in the Inner West. This continuous loop is a favourite among walkers, joggers, runners, cyclists, and even roller skaters. The BayRun offers a perfect blend of exercise and leisure as it winds around the beautiful Iron Cove Bay. From mangroves to parks, the BayRun offers a diverse landscape that is sure to captivate any nature lover.

Callan Park

Another lesser-known treasure is Callan Park, a vast heritage parkland in Lilyfield. Covering 61 hectares, this park is situated on the Parramatta River’s foreshore. Callan Park is not just a park; it’s a piece of history. It served as a hospital for mental health disorders from the 1870s until the early 2000s. Today, it’s a tranquil place where visitors can relax, enjoy nature, and appreciate the historical architecture.
