To isolate the patients and prevent the spread of the disease, the government decided to use this remote location as a hospital site. The Prince Henry Hospital
In 1888, Coast Hospital was established at Little Bay. The hospital was later renamed Prince Henry Hospital, in honor of Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, in 1934. The hospital played a significant role in the community and was renowned for its teaching and research until its closure in 2003.

Today, Little Bay is a thriving residential area known for its idyllic setting and community spirit.
