Pre-Colonial Era

50,000–45,000 BP: Whale carvings in Bondi hint at the presence of ancient Aboriginal communities along Sydney’s coastline.
30,000 BP: Radiocarbon dating reveals human activity in the Sydney basin, evidenced by stone tools and ancient campfires in Parramatta.
21,100–17,800 BP: Stone artifacts found in Shaws Creek and the Blue Mountains provide glimpses of early human habitation.
5,000–7,000 BP: Sydney rock engravings—meticulously etched images of people, animals, and symbols—adorn sandstone cliffs.
