The Charm of Shoal Haven

Shoal Haven, a local government area in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, is a place of natural beauty and rich history. Established on 1 July 1948, the city was formed from the amalgamation of several municipalities and shires. It was proclaimed a city by the Governor of NSW on 13 July 1979.
The city is home to a population of 108,531 as of the 2021 census. It is located about 200 kilometres south of Sydney, with the Princes Highway passing through the area and the South Coast railway line traversing the northern section, terminating at Bomaderry.
The Shoal Haven area is adjacent to the Jervis Bay Territory and stretches approximately 160 kilometres along the coastline. It boasts 109 beaches, which are said to possess the whitest sand in the world, as well as pristine natural Australian bushland.

The Serenity of Nelson Beach

Nelson Beach, located in Jervis Bay’s White Sands Coast, is one of the quieter beaches in the area. It is known for its spectacular white sand and often has enough room to spread out with the family. The beach also offers gentle waves for swimming and paddling.
The beach runs from Plantation Point Reserve in the north to Blenheim Beach in the south. For those who enjoy walking, there are pathways leading north to Huskisson on the Round the Bay Walk, a wide, sealed, shared pathway. Alternatively, you can head south to Greenfield and Jervis Bay National Park on the White Sands Walk.
Plantation Point is a little hidden gem that you must see. The area has many amenities like barbecues, tables, play ground, fitness equipment & area and gorgeous parkland which makes for a perfect time.
