Primrose Park, Cremorne

Primrose Park

Primrose Park, is located in Cremorne on the lower north shore of Sydney, New South Wales.

A spectacular and interesting park that offers a variety of recreational activities for both locals and visitors. The park is situated on the foreshores of Willoughby Bay, making it a popular destination due to its mix of sporting and other recreational facilities.

The park features sports fields that cater to football, hockey, and cricket, as well as for training, school sports, and carnivals. It also houses four tennis courts next to the hill, two enclosed user-friendly cricket nets, floodlights, change rooms, toilets, and clubhouses for hockey and tennis. These facilities make Primrose Park one of North Sydney’s best sports grounds.

Primrose Park has a significant area of urban bushland surrounding the parks. It is a beautiful piece of bushland in the lower north shore area.

The old Sewage Works structure still stands to this day you can still look at the outsides of these buildings including the main engine house, tunnel systems, and the release canal.

Some of the buildings are still in full use today and they are used as storage, bathrooms and even the home of the Primrose Park Art and Craft Centre.

As it is a great oval and sporting facility it is also the home for lots of teams of sporting clubs.

For nature lovers, there’s a bush walking track that connects to Folly Point. Dogs are welcome in Primrose Park; however, they must be kept on a leash in bushland areas.

Primrose Park has a rich aboriginal history as it was originally occupied by the Cammeraygal Aboriginal people. Shell middens found in the area suggest that it would have provided easy connection access to Warringah, Cammeray, Mosman & Middle Harbour and further from that

Primrose Park has a designated car park in the park itself and buses that go to the top of the hill and you then have to walk down into the park. The park is also a 10-minute walk from Military Road which is one of the busiest roads in NSW.

Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or someone who enjoys a leisurely walk in the park, Primrose Park has something for everyone.
