Have you ever had trouble taking a good cityscape photograph?
Here are some pointers that may give you that edge.
- Make sure you get something at the edge of the photo that makes it straight.
- You may need to trim the picture as it may be center-focused and have to much sky or other info below.
- Be different and creative and use off-angled or wide-angle to change the feel of the picture.
- Choose the right time of day.
- Try and use reflections from the different buildings and if you want a sparkle on the glass reflection or nighttime lights use a star filter.
- Use long or short exposure to suit.
- Rest your hand on something so it can give you some balance.
- Think of the best perspective and then feel the photo by feeling how the angles on the camera change the photo.
- Try and get some height by standing on a chair or something if you feel like the buildings are not coming straight as the more you get to be at the base height the straighter the photo can get.
- Try and work out what mood you are trying to relay before taking the photo
